Gene has been in the Real Estate Business in Albuquerque for over 50 years. He specialized in Real Estate Development and Real Estate Investments for his own account. He acquired 20 acres of prime commercial land in 1942 at Indian School Road and Tramway N.E. in Albuquerque, prior to the Tax Reform Act of 1986 and had to be creative to develop the land. The development commenced in 1991 and is now fully complete anchored by an 8 Screen Movie Theater (United Artists) and the balance made up of 2 buildings. One building is 20,000 square feet and hosts a Lazer Tag operation of 5,000 square feet, and also a Nickel City Arcade (play any game for 1, 2 or 3 nickels!). In Addition, the building hosts Battletech Firestorm Virtual Reality Pods, Bumper Cars, a Soda Fountain, and a Snack Bar. The other building is 12,000 square feet and includes a Token Arcade, Snack Bar, Jungle Play, 36 Hole Miniature Golf Course, Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, and the Rock Climbing Wall. HFFC Super Challenge Paintball was also added in Spring 2003 and hosts two paintball arenas. The Park is open 363 days a year with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Gene Hinkle does not manage the park, but relies on onsite management. For the past 26 years, Gene has been a Director of Wells Fargo Bank. He is a Past President of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and the Albuquerque Economic Development, as well as a host of other civic activities.
